The Heart of England Branch

This branch of the Western Front Association covers the area Warwick - Leamington Spa - Coventry - Rugby - Stratford-upon-Avon - Solihull - South Birmingham.

We meet on the second Tuesday of every month (except August), at 7.30pm, in Warwick. These meetings consist mainly of listening to an invited speaker, who will normally talk for 45 minutes to an hour. The talks are usually illustrated. There is also plenty of time for socialising, and there is often a bookstall, display or some other attraction. Attendances are around 30-50 people. It is an excellent way to meet others who share your interest in the 1914-1918 period. Non-members of the Association are welcome. There is a £2 admission donation at the door, which also gives you free refreshments at the half-time break.

The Branch produces an occasional newsletter, and is very active in promoting remembrance. We organise an annual Spring tour to the battlefields of France and Flanders. In recent years we have visited Ypres, the Somme, Arras, Mons, and Loos.
