Harry Canvin : 'The Grimsby Chums'

Remember Harry's talk on Seton Hutchinson? This promises to be just as good. The Grimsby Chums were more formally known as the 10th (Service) Battalion, the Lincolnshire Regiment, a volunteer unit that opened its account with a bloody time on the Somme.

Annual Branch Trip: 'The Kaiserchlacht and the Advance to Victory'

This years tour examines the area Amiens-Peronne-St Quentin. Now fully booked.

June 13th

Paul Cobb : 'Sir John Monash and the battle of Hamel'

Ex-Vice-Chairman Paul, an expert on the Aussies, makes a welcome return.

July 11th

Lt-Col. Bob Wyatt: 'Soldiers Songs'

You're sure to go home whistling...but mind the rude words!

Gordon Rae : 'The Ladies, God Bless' em'

An excellent and profusely illustrated talk, covering subjects as diverse as Edith Cavell, Gabrielle Petit (Belgian patriot), bombing victim Betty Stevenson, seances, Big Bertha, various actresses and Marie Corelli's 300lb of sugar!

February 14th

John Lethbridge : 'Birmingham in the Great War'

A subject of great local interest, covered the various battalions of the Royal Warwicks, various VC and other heroes, and generally presented the picture of the huge military and industrial effort made by the citizens of Brum.

March 14th

Christine Cluley : 'Lady Dorothy Fielding'

Christine, from Warwickshire County Records Office, made a first visit to the Branch.

April 11th
